Our Work

From grassroots to grassroots, our work has spanned over the last 18 years with a mission focused on skills. I+E put up the first Wikipedia on skills-based hiring in 2011. Our research has been recognized globally, and our projects have made an impact on many lives. We will always be grateful to the founding board of directors and the many foundations that supported us through our journey.

Our Mission

To create new employment pathways for workers based on skills and competencies.

Our Vision

To strengthen our workforce by "filtering in" and providing access to training and employment aligned to high-demand jobs.

Pro Skills Training

Proskills training is founded on our decade of research on skills-based hiring with a combination of assessments, training, and work-based learning. We’ve seen a 98% completion rate and an 85% placement rate since inception in 2019.  Soon to be online, this 6-week training provides learners with foundational skills for job placement, including a skills-based resume. Currently, our work is supported by Santa Fe County.

Workforce Intermediary

We have been very successful serving as an intermediary around workforce strategies for workforce boards, community colleges, and employers. Our team includes a deep bench of workforce consultants who have been with us for more than a decade. We are in our 7th year consulting with the Colorado Department of workforce building out a sector pathway strategy.

Second-Chance Hiring

We’ve had the honor to work in New Mexico to provide second-chance hiring to those previously incarcerated. When individuals are released from incarceration, they are provided the proskills program and preferential job placement with second chance employers.

National Convening

We are in our 13th year of convening national thought leaders for the Close It Summit. Learn more at closeit.org and on the Close It Summit tab.
