Global business analytics leader SAS, workforce leader Geographic Solutions, New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions and Innovate+Educate announce a vision to create a Workforce Systems Analytics Dashboard to support community decision making and action plan development with regard to local employment ecosystems

SANTA FE, NM
 -  Today, Innovate+Educate in partnership with global data analytics leader SAS and national workforce provider Geographic Solutions has announced a new collaboration with NM Department of Workforce Solutions to design a Workforce Systems Analytics Dashboard that would potentially pilot in New Mexico in 2017.   The project, “Advanced Community Analytics (ACA),” would be the first of its kind to take key data sets from communities to create a predictive visualization tool to support communities in shifting their workforce strategies to skills and competencies.  The initial phase of the Advanced Community Analytics project will support the New Mexico Pathways Project, an Innovate+Educate initiative funded by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation aligned with I+E’s mission of advancing competency based hiring and building multiple pathways to employment. The New Mexico Pathways Project addresses barriers to economic success in five communities and identifies the significant economic drivers, employment opportunities, and barriers to employment.

“The ACA Project is designed to display data that provides a full "picture" of both the opportunities as well as the barriers experienced by communities across the Country,” stated Jamai Blivin, CEO, Innovate+Educate. “While many data sets exist to describe various aspects of these communities, this information is often presented without appropriate context, separated from other data sets, and not easily understandable by community members.  Our goal with this project is to take data to a new level that can be understood by communities and used predictively for better decisions that can lead changes to competency based solutions.  SAS leads predictive analytics and we are honored to collaborate with them in this work.”

“The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions recognizes that strategic partnerships are key to efforts like the ACA project,” said Secretary Celina Bussey, “and, the department looks forward to providing information and data approaches that improve our communities and benefit the lives of generations to come.”
“Working on this vision with Innovate+Educate, Geographic Solutions and the State of New Mexico enables us to demonstrate why bringing together data from across diverse systems and settings is critical to ‘seeing’ how analytics can help shift decisions and planning, moving from being reactive to being proactive,” said Colleen Jenkins, SAS director of education.  ‘This shift will allow individuals, agencies and communities to better align and support growth and opportunity for all.

Paul Toomey, CEO of Geosolutions added, “We are very excited about this collaboration with SAS, New Mexico and I+E around this opportunity to look more closely at key workforce and labor market data that can assist communities in assessing available skills and competencies.”
