Mike Belcher, Americas Education Chief Innovation Officer, Hewlett-Packard

Mike Belcher is currently the Americas Education Chief Innovation Officer at HP and based in Austin Texas. Mike began his career at HP in 2007 as the Education Solutions Manager for the Americas Region helping develop, build and bring to market several key solutions including education services, software and partner- driven products around Personalized Learning.

Mike has dedicated his career to helping schools leverage technology and innovative instructional strategies to revolutionize their teaching and learning strategies and help move from Teacher-centric to Student-centered learning. In 2009 he transitioned to the worldwide Education team and helped develop some of the first “Cloud-architected” solutions for the K12 market. These new “Student-Centered, Personalized Learning” solutions as well as the Digital Learning Framework including product management and market development of new education solutions including HP Classroom Manager www.hp.com/go/hpclassroommanager and HP School Cloud in conjunction with ClassLink as the first Web -based Desktop to work across all platforms. Mike helped develop HP Education solutions messaging for the HP Education site www.hp.com/hpeducation.

In 2012, Mike took a new role in the HP Education Strategy team for the Americas, as a Subject Matter Expert and advocate for innovative education needs with-in HP. In addition Mike works regularly with State Legislature, Offices of Education, University and School District Leadership to solve the complex challenges facing our schools to deliver sustainable, but effective Instructional outcomes through the use of technology. For the ten years prior to HP, Mike was the Sr. Product Planning Manager for Gateway, Inc, one of the nation’s largest technology companies. He was responsible for planning, developing and delivering Gateways technology-based learning solutions. He worked regularly with leaders in the Instructional technology field, to help create synergistic solutions to educational and learning problems.

Raised in Northern and Southern California, Mike now resides in Austin, TX and is a member of ASTD and ISTE, sits on several State Educational & Workforce Readiness Boards and is involved in Ed Tech Learning initiatives as well as a speaker and panelist for multiple State and National events for the education market.
