Larry Roth, EdDesignLab
Laurence Roth is an entrepreneur and operating executive with 25 years of experience in the digital media and education technology marketplaces. Previously, Larry was the Vice President of Strategic Business Development and Marketing for Agile Mind, a provider of highly innovative digital mathematics and science programs for underserved middle and high schools. In that position, his efforts were focused on partnerships that would increase the diversity and number of America’s students excelling in math and science, with a particular emphasis on strengthening the non-cognitive skills of students from low-income backgrounds.
Earlier, he co-founded Cinea, Inc., a digital rights management company, which was recognized as one of the top Virginia start-ups in 2004. After selling his company to Dolby Laboratories (NYSE: DLB), he continued as a vice president of marketing for Dolby and sat on the company’s national marketing council. Previously, Larry was an executive with Viacom Inc., Turner Broadcasting, and MGM/UA and was one of the pioneers in the media industry’s transition to digital publishing and distribution.
Larry was recognized for his work with young entrepreneurs in the Fairfax County Public Schools in 2011. In 2012 he was a finalist for the Center of Innovative Technology’s FAST 50 award, honoring the leading entrepreneurs in the State of Virginia.
Larry holds an M.B.A. from the Andersen School at UCLA and a bachelor’s degree in science, technology and society from Vassar College. He lives in Vienna, VA with his wife, Kimberly, and his three children.
