Intelligent Innovation Awards 2012

Innovate+Educate and Intel are pleased to announce the launch of our “Intelligent Innovation” classroom grant program to advance STEM education.

As a global technology leader, Intel is a strong and active supporter of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education in the states and communities where they operate.  Innovate+Educate partnered with Intel in 2009 to advance effective education transformation with the goals of supporting teacher performance, increasing student competitiveness, building job skills, supporting economic development and scaling the most successful programs across school districts and the state.

Intel has invested over $1 billion dollars and close to three million employee volunteer hours to improve teaching and learning environments over the last decade. Intel’s model of education transformation is a systemic approach that is based on research and includes the best practices for improved educational outcomes. The purpose of this grant program is to support teachers and schools in smaller districts (under 13,000 students) in New Mexico to improve STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education & outcomes in the classroom and beyond.  Studies have shown that over 90% of all jobs require some level of STEM competency and yet our students’ interest in STEM subjects and careers continues to decline.  Intel and Innovate+Educate are dedicated to finding the most innovative STEM programs across the state, empowering these programs through funding and then encouraging educators to share their successes so the best STEM programs can scale.
