Anne Lopez, Project Director, Dallas Retail + Plus
As the Project Director for the Retail Pathways Pilot Initiative launched in Dallas, Anne is responsible for the oversight of the grant objectives and outcomes. Anne manages employer outreach in the retail and adjacent sectors as well as the oversight of the Retail+Plus Employer Steering Committee. Coordinating with local educational partners including the Dallas County Community College District, community partners, and the local Workforce Investment Board, Anne's work is focused on the goal of creating a model for incumbent workers to have social mobility and awareness of opportunities.
Anne earned a M.A. in Human Sciences with a focus on Psychology and Education. Having a diversified employment background, she found her passion in working for the community in the arena of workforce. Anne has eighteen years of workforce experience in several board areas in Texas including Alamo, Greater Dallas, Tarrant, and West Central as well as serving as a consultant and subject matter expert in the management and operation of several federal block grants nationally. She served as the Director of Quality, Performance and Training and as Deputy Director for a large Board contractor concurrently. Serving on grant writing teams as a subject matter expert, and then designing, reengineering and implementing new service delivery designs within operations, quality, performance, and training. Vision, design, and subsequent implementation of a staff/management competency model in collaboration with her Quality, Performance and Training directors was one of the most rewarding ventures of her career. Always intrigued with new technology and the awareness and application of that to serve the community with both integrity and efficiency led her to Innovate+Educate. Keeping a motto of "Design your own Dream", Anne believes we are only limited by our own vision to create. This a message Anne tries to embody for her own three children. As a two time cancer survivor, Anne continues to "do what scares me and push the boundaries of possibilities forward". All in an effort to serve the community and maximize resources.
